radiology findings revealed findings diagnostic of acute necrotizing pancreatitis with cyst formation.

The Academic Affairs
has concluded the year 2011 with achieving 706 CME hours throughout
the year. A total of 92 educational events were carried out
including 2 major international conferences and several practical
workshops. The list of activities also included several professional
development opportunities through administrative, quality, and
language training programs. Events of this year attracted more than
5000 participant and a lot of useful feedback was received from them
that will help to improve next year program.
The academic calendar
for the year 2012 educational activities was issued by Academic
Affairs and is now available online. It is planned to carry out more
that 200 educational events distributed among medical and nursing
departments and life support courses. 700 accredited CME hours are
targeted with 7 departments regularly carrying out regional club
meetings

As a service provided
by Academic Affairs every year, the new combined 1433 Hijri with
2012 Gregorian calendar was published and available now for health
care professionals in Al-Baha region to be used for planning of the
new year activities. This calendar is amenable to change according
to start of Hijri months officially announced each at its time. a

Accredited by AACME for the 4th Year
King Fahad Hospital,
Al-Baha officially received accreditation renewal for the year 2011
by the American
Academy of Continuous Medical Education (AACME). This enables
Academic Affairs to provide internationally recognized CME events
and enjoy partnership services provided by this respected
international body. This privilege was granted after finishing the
academic year 2010 and providing more than 700 accredited CME hours
and providing AACME with full report of these events.

Kingdom Wide in
CBAHI Survey
King Fahad Hospital,
Al-Baha achieved 92.2% in CBAHI survey carried out from 28 February
to 3rd March 2010. This score is the 2nd highest score kingdom wide.
After this achievement, the hospital administration is planning to
proceed for JCI accreditation according to the declaration of Dr.
Mahmoud Al-Bahrawy, the director of hospital quality Management.

As an effort to support
new employees in King Fahad Hospital Al-Baha and improve their
orientation about the hospital, Al-Baha region, and the whole
kingdom, Academic affairs in collaboration with quality management
